How to Single Crochet for Left-handers

In our previous articles, you have learnt about the tools you need for crocheting as well as how to get started with a simple crochet chain.

Now, it is time for you to start making your first crochet project using the Single Crochet stitch. You will see this abbreviated in crochet patterns as “sc”.

When learning how to single crochet using your left hand, you first need to understand where to place the stitch in your chain. There are three strands of yarn in each chain, and first you will learn which strand to use when placing your first single crochet.

It is important to note that the second chain from the hook is always used when placing your first single crochet. The tutorial explains this and then demonstrates the process.

You are then ready to start your first project which will be a dish cloth!

In our next article, you will learn the correct way to change color when crocheting.
