No More Burnt Hands With This Practical Crochet Cast Iron Cozy
I was delighted when I came across this free pattern for a crochet cast iron cozy from The Firefly Hook.
I do love cooking with my cast iron frying pan or skillet. The only drawback, is that the handle can get really hot and I have burnt my hand more than once … .
This is a really quick and easy pattern. It also comes with a “mini” photo tutorial. It shows how you can easily adapt the pattern to any size frying pan or skillet.
You won’t need much yarn for this project, especially if you choose to make stripes in different colors. The handle cozy is crocheted in the round.
To ensure that you do not burn yourself, you will need to make the cozy twice as long as the actual handle. The cozy is then doubled up so it becomes nice and thick.
