Make This Delightful Crochet Chicken Potholder
This delightful crochet chicken potholder is a quick and easy little project that you can do in no time at all.
The crocheted chicken pot holder will not only look great on any dinner table, it will also protect it from your hot pots.
We highly recommend that you crochet this using a man-made fiber such as cotton, especially if you are going to put hot pots on it as acrylic yarn will melt if it gets too hot.
Use a size [US I] 5.5 mm crochet hook.
This video will take you through, step-by-step, how to make this lovely little crochet chicken potholder. It has been by Crystal over at Bag-O-Day Crochet & More.
You can find more FREE patterns for potholders here: Crochet Dishcloths & Potholders.
There is no written pattern for this potholder. We suggest you pause the video as you crochet along with Crystal.

I tried this, followed the video and also wrote down the pattern as I went . The first pot holder seemed a bit thin.
The next one I made I used a size G/6 hook. Made it a little tighter. I made two, then did the last finishing stitch to put them together. It turned out real cute and more useable.

I did the same as Grandma Gerry, but I also added two layers of felt in the middle and stitched it all together with the scallops around the outside edge. Makes them nice and thick.

Absolutely love this pattern. How would I make this larger? This would look stunning in the middle of a farmhouse table.
editor says
Hi Diane
I love you idea.
Depending on the approximate size you are looking for, increasing the yarn weight and corresponding hook will certainly give you a larger chicken potholder.
Hope this helps!
