To make these rustic placemats, you will need:
- US N/P-15 10 mm hook
- 3-ply jute cord (approx. 65 yds per placemat)
- scissors
A finished crochet jute placemat measures approx. 12 inches in diameter. In metric, that is approx. 30.5 cm.
The placemats are quick to make as they are just made in 8 rounds. The pattern comes with clear instructions as well as a diagram.

Jute and rope are nice to crochet with but if one crochets too fast with either of the 2 one will get rope and jute burns. I may consider wearing a pair of thin thin cotton gloves next time.
