In our previous articles, we took a look at how to get started with crocheting with your left hand. So far, we covered how to make a slip knot, do a simple chain and a single crochet stitch.
In this article, you will begin to learn how to do a Double Crochet which is the most common stitch within crochet. You will usually see this in crochet patterns as a DC. The double crochet stitch is one of the essential stitches in crocheting.
It is important to note that whereas this particular stitch is called the double crochet stitch in North America, in Europe it is usually referred to as the treble crochet stitch. In European crochet patterns, you will see this particular stitch referred to as TR.
This easy to follow, step-by-step tutorial shows how you can make a double crochet stitch if you are a left-handed crocheter. It only shows you how to do the first two rows, as this stitch is important to learn as you need to be able to work this stitch into the foundation chain as well as when crocheting the second row.
