Have Fun Creating This Amazing Scottish Thistle Crochet Flora
Have fun creating this amazing Scottish Thistle Crochet Flora. This national flower, and emblem of Scotland may be just a prickly weed to some, but to many it’s so much more.
This fabulous design is a great replica of this wonderful symbol. Scottish or not it is another great piece to add to your flora collection or a fabulous and unusual brooch to pair with an outfit.
The flower itself is made in a spiral and assembled using florist wire to give it strength. When completed, the flower should be approx. 1.6 inches / 4 cm from the tip to the base with an additional 0.60 inch / 1.5 cm for the flower head.
The designer has used a size 2.5 mm crochet hook, but suggests using the smallest hook you can find, to allow you to create the tightest stitches possible, to stop the flower from drooping.
